Turkey "Spaghetti" Pie

Cooking with the Kids is such a great way to learn about their lives as well as teach them the importance of good, healthy food.  It also teaches then a skill.  I can't believe how many people CAN't cook. 

So here is another easy to do dinner.  Here is what you will need:

1.5 pounds of lean ground turkey

2 green peppers chopped

1 onion chopped

2 cloves minced garlic

In a large skillet cook the above ingredients stirring constantly until turkey browned and veggies soft.  Add

4 oz can Hunts tomato sauce

1 tsp dried oregano

 and cook until heated through.

Pour into prepared pie pan and bake a 350 for 25 minutes, sprinkle with 1/3 cup shredded mozzerella cheese and bake 5 more minutes.  Cheese is optional.

For the Pie Dish:

Combine 6 ounces of zoodles. ( I used a combination of zucchini and yellow squash) with 3 egg whites, 2 tablespoons of Braggs Nutritional Yeast.  Spread the zoodles out in a pie plate.  Fill with the meat mixture and cook as instructed above.  

This recipe served the 5 of us with left overs.  So a great meal to make and take to work the next day.
